I was supposed to stick to the 500 cal diet through Sunday, but started eating according to Phase 3 on Saturday morning. It’s about like Atkins. Jamie made sausage and eggs with cheese. SO good! Don’t even remember what I ate the rest of the day, but it included macadamia nuts. The next morning I was 2 lbs heavier. I was so pissed! Of course Jamie can only do the 500 cals for only one day, then start on P3 and be fine, but it figures that I can’t.
Sunday I decided to go back to the 500 cal. Did well in the morning – had a chicken salad. Then an apple a couple hours later. Then went off the plan and ate a chicken/turkey sausage and two turkey meatballs with some sugar-free marinara. That might have been okay, but a few minutes later Jamie comes trotting out with those damn macadamia nuts. They are so good. For dinner I ate left over chicken salad that had half an avocado on the plate with sour cream all over it. Tried to get the majority of sour cream off, but definitely consumed some. This morning, up another pound.
I had already decided last night that if I was up more this morning I’d be doing a “steak day”. A steak day is nothing to eat all day, just drink fluids, then at night eat as big of a steak as I can chased by one apple. This is supposed to get the gain off. We shall see.
I think I have to stick more to plain meats; not processed meats loaded with salt and oils. Can’t go crazy with cheese (dairy, unfortunately, naturally contains sugar)– just have a little shredded parm or crumbled blue cheese for flavor. I can expand the types of meats and fish, like turkey or tuna. And watch my calories. According to Jamie’s mom, the calorie rule-of-thumb is take your weight from the last day of hcg and multiply it by 11. That is how many calories you can take in to maintain. It calculates to more than I’d expect. Just no sugars/starches.
Stressing over 3 pounds is… uh, stressful. I’m afraid to eat anything really. We’ll see how my weight is tomorrow.
